Notes: All information on Daniel McPherson of the Argyll Colony can be found in my account of his father, John McPherson and descendants. Daniel McPherson has been known as Reverend Daniel McPherson and that his wife's name was Sarah; this is in error. He was in no way a minister and his wife's name was Marian (Sarah is English for the Gaelic Marron or Marian). There is no direct statement that Marian was the daughter of "Shoemaker John" McNeill, but strong evidence exists to show that her known brother Neill McNeill was the son of Shoemaker John McNeill.
