Alexander McPherson and his wife, Nancy Dallas McPherson.

Alexander McPherson [1798–1879] was the son of Daniel McPherson and Marian McNeill McPherson. Nancy Dallas [1797–1879] has been reputed to be the daughter of Peter Dallas of Robeson County, but she may have been the daughter of Hugh Dallas. Hugh Dallas was probably Peter Dallas's brother. The Dallas clan of Robeson County has not been fully researched. It has not been determined where exactly the Alex McPherson home was located. My grandmother claimed their home was near the sharp curve [where the 'hanging tree' was] just south of the Mill Village on the old Maxton Road just south of Red Springs, NC. Oral history says that Nancy drank as well as her husband, and smoked a corncob pipe.
